Al Pi Darko Yizkor Campaign for Jewish Education

On this Yizkor, we ask that you commit that charity towards our Jewish Education Campaign, "Al Pi Darko." The phrase Al Pi Darko, taken from the book of Proverbs, was King Solomon's brilliant pedagogically philosophy of "Educate a child according to their ways." Each child curriculum should be designed to their needs. At Ohav Sholom, we have committed to that philosophy when it comes to Jewish Education.

 

You can designate your contribution to go towards scholarships for Ohav kids towards the following:

 

1) The JFI Stone Family Hebrew School at Ohav Sholom:  The School is proudly undergoing a renaissance both in enrollment and with an enriched curriculum. Under the leadership of Rabbi Ira Ebbin, and with the partnership of the Jewish Family Initiative, our children receive an excellent Hebrew School education focusing on Hebrew Reading, Prayer, Holidays, and a love for Judaism. Ohav currently underwrites nearly $50,000 annually towards the funding of the Hebrew School.

 

2) Day School Scholarship Fund: Any Ohav family who would like to provide a Day School Education for the children will receive the financial assistance that is needed to make that a reality. Over $15,000 is allocated annually from the Rabbi Ebbin Charity Fund in Day School Scholarships for Ohav families.

 

3) PAJE Fund: The Promotion and Advancement for Jewish Education provides assistance to encourage new families to enroll their children in Jewish Day Schools. Since its inception a few years ago, nearly a dozen Ohav children have enrolled in Jewish Day Schools with PAJE assistance.
