Women's Tefillah Group

Coordinator
REBECCA MOLDWIN
FRAN MOSHKOVSKI

The Women's Tefillah Group at Ohav Sholom serves the needs of women who wish to express themselves in meaningful prayer and ritual beyond that which is possible in an Orthodox minyan. The group welcomes women of all Jewish backgrounds. Women with more education participate as leaders in the service. Those less familiar participate at a level where they are comfortable.

Rabbi Jeremiah Wohlberg, spiritual leader of Congregation Ohav Sholom, serves as the group's halachic (Jewish Law) advisor. The group coordinates its efforts with two international groups: the Jewish Orthodox Feminist Alliance and the Women's Tefillah Group Network.

The group generally meets monthly in the Hauptman Chapel. The format consists of Haftarah chanting, Parsha study, and Musaf. Services begin after Torah Reading (approx. 10:15 AM).
