"Off the Beaten Track" is a monthly column intended for those traveling to Israel who are looking for an alternative way of touring the country, besides the usual group tours. You may be looking for more flexibility in your trip, a more direct say in your itinerary , a greater emphasis on sites geared to families, or just a way to see Israel, while cutting costs. You may simply enjoy reading about out-of-the-way places in Israel. If so, read on!

The places described are based on personal experiences, while visiting Israel over the last several years.
